A very important part of the LokSound system is the speaker. Therefore, we only use specially developed loudspeakers geared to the sound decoder. Here we recommend the following old saying, the bigger the speaker, the better the sound. As such, we offer loudspeakers in various sizes, one of them will surely fit into your loco. Should there not be enough space, you can also install the speaker in a ‘ghost waggon’ directly behind the loco.

Another crucial accessory is the sound chamber. This helps create the necessary sound pressure for the speaker´s membrane and comes with most loudspeakers.

If you are not sure about which loudspeaker fits into your loco we generally recommend to open the loco and measure the dimensions with a ruler.

Since model railway manufacturers often tend to change (tacitly) the inner modifications of their locos we are not able to make recommendations in general. Therefore rely on your own observations!

! You must never use the new 4 Ohms speakers with the previous LokSound V3.5 decoder. The decoder could be destroyed! When the decoder is replaced, the speaker must! be changed as well.

When selecting the loudspeaker the used decoder type is important. Depending on the decoder, different loudspeakers can be used as follows:

LokSound V4.0, LokSound micro V4.0 and LokSound V4.0 M4 decoders need the new speaker with an impendance of 4 Ohms. With the present 100 Ohms loudspeakers you would hardly hear anything.

Ein wichtiger Teil des LokSound Systems ist der Lautsprecher. Daher verwenden wir nur speziell entwickelte, auf die Sounddecoder abgestimmte Lautsprecher. Hier gilt die alte Binsenweisheit: Je größer der Lautsprecher, desto besser der Klang. Aus diesem Grund bieten wir Lautsprecher in verschiedensten Größen an. Einer davon wird bestimmt in Ihre Lok passen. Sollte der Platz einmal nicht ausreichen, kann man den Lautsprecher auch in einem „Geisterwagen“ direkt hinter der Lok einbauen.

Unerlässliches Zubehör ist die Schallkapsel, die der Lautsprechermembrane den nötigen Schalldruck gibt und zum Lieferumfang der meisten Lautsprecher gehört.

Wenn Sie sich nicht sicher sind, welcher Lautsprecher in Ihr Modell passt, dann empfehlen wir generell, die Lok zu öffnen und mit Lineal selbst nachzumessen.

! Wir können keine generellen Empfehlungen zu den Lautsprechergrößen abgeben, weil Lokhersteller oftmals (stillschweigend) das Innenleben ändern. Verlassen Sie sich daher am besten auf Ihre eigene Beobachtung!

Beim Aussuchen des Lautsprechers ist der verwendete Decodertyp entscheidend. Je nach Decoder, sind unterschiedliche Lautsprecher passend:

LokSound V4.0, LokSound micro V4.0 und LokSound V4.0 M4 Deocder benötigen die neuen Lautsprecher mit 4 Ohm Impedanz. Mit den bisherigen 100 Ohm Lautsprechern werden Sie kaum etwas hören.
